The peanut sauce is always of a perfectly balanced consistency - not too thick, not too thin, and by the time you're done, you may be wishing you had ordered another plate of rolls instead of the soup!
Don't worry, though - when your Pho arrives, you will have already forgotten about that; the same beef can be found in the soup. Simply amazing!
Looking for dessert? Well, assuming you have room, the CoffeeFirst partition of the restaurant offers a variety of gourmet sweets and flavorful coffees, and the dining room is relaxing and well decorated, so you won't mind staying a few extra moments to soak it all in.
CoffeeFirst Saigon Grill is the quintessential Pho experience, and well worth the drive even for native Portland residents and distant Gresham food pioneers!
Patrick S.'s 5 Star Review of CoffeeFirst Saigon Grill
4/27/2008
I have eaten my way through more Pho restaurants than the average Joe out there and I have to tell you that CoffeeFirst Saigon Grill is a real gem in my book. Let's start with atmosphere and setting. It's beautifully decorated with Italian lites and fake ivy on trellises with tastefully tacky paintings of the golden gate bridge and the Eiffel tower, and pleasantly sung french and Italian music. For what it is it's actually quite romantic in a cute way. Next the menu. They have all the standards from every Pho restaurant I'd ever been to plus an exciting french dessert menu which looks very exciting but I have never tasted due to the heaping bowl of Pho I always empty. I've had Pho, Goi Cuon, Goi gio, and the grilled pork sandwich. The staff is very friendly and most accommodating. Overall they have it all and then some. As a plus there is of course a market adjoining the restaurant that has even more for you to choose from and take home.
Enjoy!
